Free pickleball in Riverside Park

Riverside Park's pickleball courts sit on the lower recreation level near West 110th Street, between the Andy Kessler skate park and the basketball courts. There are five dedicated courts with permanent painted lines, purpose-built by the Riverside Park Conservancy and opened in 2023, not lines taped over a tennis court. Play is free, drop-in, and first-come, with no reservation system and no permit unless you are running a league or a group of twenty or more.

Before you go

There are no lights, so play ends at sunset, as early as around 4:30pm in winter. The courts sit right above the Hudson, so the river breeze is real, and regulars bring heavier outdoor balls to cut through it. The nearest subway is the 1 train to Cathedral Parkway / 110th Street, a short walk downhill toward the river. The local community organizes pickup and open play through the TeamReach app (group code RiversidePark).

Other Riverside Park courts

Riverside Park has three separate places to play, and they are easy to mix up: these 110th Street pickleball courts, the 96th Street red clay tennis courts, and the 119th Street hard tennis courts.
